el manguito integrated organic farm this one-family project is truly amazing. don tino converted his precious little piece of land from the slash and burn method into a fully self-sustaining organic farm. you can even buy organic veggies to bring back to the manzana verde kitchen!

finca el cisne this fully operational coffee plantation & cattle ranch now specializes in agro tourism. the fabulous location and genuine enthusiasm of the local people will guarantee you an experience you ’ll never forget.

day trip
we’ll start at 7.30 am and drive to the finca. you’ ll be horseback riding, swimming, visiting the coffee and cardamom plantations and relaxing in hot springs, all amidst breathtaking views. tour also includes transport, a filling lunch and bilingual guide.

hot springs the dirt road winds through the mountains, passing several villages, before you arrive at the hot springs. here you can relax, soaking your body in the thermal waters, walk the nature trail, and enjoy a picnic. tour includes transport and takes 3 to 4 hours. there is a small entrance fee for the hot springs. daily departures at 8 am and 2 pm - minimum 3 people. private truck available for $25.

hiking put on your hiking shoes and join us for an adventurous hike in the surrounding mountains. possible river crossings, bushwhacking, steep ascents and descents. the reward? stunning views, fascinating indigenous culture, waterfalls! expect to be out for 4-6 hours. bring lots of water, some food, good hiking shoes. tour includes bilingual foreign guide. every saturday, leaving from cafe via via at 7:30 am.

hacienda san lucas you don’ t need a guide for this one. an easy 30 minute hike along the river takes you to this unique location. the hacienda still operates according to traditions of the ancient maya. fabulous spot for sunsets (with drinks), stunning view over the ruins and the copan valley. you can also visit the tiny but fascinating maya site of los sapos. there is an entry fee of 30 lempiras to go to hacienda san lucas.
