Jungle Trip to the Mosquito Coast

Are you ready for the most exciting adventure trip in Central America?
Come with us to the legendary Mosquito Coast.

Trip Itinerary:

Day 1: Leave Copán- to La Ceiba by public bus where we spend the night and go to the supermarket shopping for the trip.

Day 2: Up early to be at the airport by 6 a.m for our flight to Palacios. From Palacios we go in canoe to Belen where we take a horsecart to Kuri. Camp along the beach in Kuri.

Day 3: Take motor canoe through Kuri mangrove canal to the Plátano river. We continue up the river Plátano 8 hours to the Misquito village Las Marias. We spend night there socializing with the locals.

Day 4: Take Pipantes ( canoes without motors), for five hours upriver to see ancient hieroglyphs on the rocks along the river. These hieroglyphs are believed to be carved by a lost indian tribe, the Paya Indians. We return by canoe to spend the night in Las Marias village.

Day 5: Board the motor canoe to go downriver to Kuri where we take a pick-up to Kokovila, and then a motor canoe to the Garifuna village of Plapaya, where we spend the night, and have the opportunity to witness the local Garifuna group dance called the 'punta'.

Day 6: Head out for Palacios at 5:00 a.m. to catch our flight to La Ceiba. We split up there or continue on to San Pedro Sula.

Rate Includes:
- All meals from noon on day 2 to breakfast on day 6
- All canoe rides
- All in-country air fare
- Hotel and camping fees
- Guide fees.

Supplies provided:
Camping gear, tents, cooking utensils, water purifier.
This trip is the luxury trip, which means we travel by air conditioned buses when possible and stay in nicer hotels. We also have a budget trip, with the same itinerary, but we stay in budget hotels and we travel by public buses. Both trips require a minimum of three people.
