Copán Ruinas

The valley of Copán and the surrounding mountains provide a stunning variety of activities to suit every taste.
Here´s a sampling:

Horse back riding adventure:Over the montains and across the river to the famous Mayan ceremonial fertility site of Los Sapos (The Frogs). 2-4 hour ride. Tour available in English or Spanish. We also rent horses with out a guide, so you can the explore the region on your own.

Hot springs: Just a one hour drive from Copán, the water of Fool River mixes with the boiling hot water of the natural springs to create a temperature just right for soaking and relaxing. Swim in the man-made, naturally-heated pools and enjoy the countryside. We provide two soft drinks and a picnic lunch. 5 hour excursion. Tour includes bilingual guide.
Chonco: A great mixture of culture and nature. Visit two Mayan stelae located west of Copán. Meet the local indigenous people, known for their pottery and
hand-women mats. Hike to a fresh water spring that leads to a waterfall, and eventually the Copán river and the tiny village of Chonco. There are plenty of places to swim so be sure to bring or wear your suit as well as good hiking shoes. We provide soft drinks.

5 hour excursion. Tour includes billingual guide.
The caves: We go spelunking in a nearby hidden and rarely-explored cave. Just one hour by private truck and thirty minutes of hiking brings us to the mouth of the cave through which runs a river. Marvel at the stalagtites and stalagmites. Legend has it that this cave was used by the Mayans as a secret passage to the underground. 5 hour excursion. Tour includes bilingual guide.
