Generous donations of books

~ To create and nurture literary habits in the people of Copan Ruinas.
~ To stimulate imagination and creativity in children, teenagers and adults.

Story hour every Saturday afternoon to hear and share stories and additional activities on special occasions and when we have volunteers.

~ To support formal education systems as well as self-training and non-formal educational programs.

Books can be borrowed by teachers for use in classrooms to supplement curriculum material and individuals interested in learning through literature can also borrow books
Computers are available for students or others to use for projects
Free English classes are offered in the library given by native English speaking volunteers living in Copan Ruinas

~ To provide access to all kinds of information about the community to every citizen.

The Book Mobile will visit rural schools and communities in the 2007 school year to read and lend books and facilitate access to books in more remote areas of the municipality.

~ To rescue and conserve our cultural inheritance.
~ To provide information about the Maya culture to the people of Copan Ruinas as well as interested visitors and students.

Our collection of books about Honduras, its culture and traditions and its roots in the Maya continues to grow and is our most frequently visited non-fiction section.

~ To feed intercultural dialogue and to favour cultural diversity.
~ To promote and organize cultural activities.

Special Events including local dance groups are held occasionally and we hope to include a new workshop series to bring more awareness of cultural and local interests.
